Sensitive Stomach Dog Food

Sensitive Stomach Dog Food

When setting out to create a new kind of food for your pets, we had a few simple requirements.

Firstly, it had to be delicious, not just edible, but truly tasty. Looking appetizing, smelling great. The kind of food that wouldn’t be out of place on your own plate.

Secondly, our new pet food’s ingredients had to be limited, and top-notch. Sustainably sourced from the best farms we could find, free from hormones and antibiotics, GMO-free, and free of fillers and by-products.

And finally, just like with your own eating, we were focused on putting food in your dog or cat’s bowl that’s suitable for today’s diets. That means, not only conscious of its ingredients, its nutritional value, its origins, and of course its taste, but conscious of current dietary restrictions and trends too.

Today’s Pets Deserve Today’s Food

The foods we grow and buy, and the effects they have on our stomachs, have changed dramatically since your grandparents’ time. We now recognize a wide variety of food allergies, intolerances, and sensitivities. And our old high-carb, high-gluten, additive-filled diets no longer cuts it.

However, while the human food industry has started to catch up to modern dietary requirements, to the modern stomach, the pet food industry has fallen behind.

Disappointed by the options in the pet food aisle, many dog owners and cat owners have had to turn to preparing their pet’s meals at home. And some simple, sensitivity-free pet foods are bland and unappealing, plus often still loaded with unnecessary ingredients or flavor enhancers.

That’s where Identity has stepped in, committing to bring you the best sensitive stomach dog food and cat food available, for both health and taste. Real food you can trust.

Gluten intolerances are difficult to diagnose. And stomach sensitivities can evolve and worsen over time. So, we take no chances. All Identity pet foods are 100% gluten-free and 100% grain-free.

What’s more, with the sole exception of our New Zealand lamb, all of our ingredients are locally sourced within 500 miles of our small-batch cannery, so they are cooked and canned fresh, never frozen.  Our commitment to freshness may be somewhat unprecedented, but we wholeheartedly believe it makes a difference to the health of your pet.

Does Your Dog Have a Sensitive Stomach?

Although there are some tell-tale signs, it is difficult to know with certainty what might be causing your pet to experience an upset tummy. Our pet friends come into contact (and eat!) such a huge variety of foods (and non-foods).

While you can’t control everything that goes into your little companion’s mouth, you can control their daily meals, the main source for their energy and nutrients. Your dog or cat’s health can be seriously impacted by what they eat.

If your dog has food sensitivities or allergies and isn’t digesting food properly, they won’t get the essential vitamins, proteins, and calories they need. And they’ll have a hard time being the happy, fun, and active friend you love. From fatigue and discomfort, to unhealthy fur, irritability, and more, the results can be upsetting to imagine.

Our first recommendation is to always consult with your friendly local veterinarian when it comes to any extreme changes in your dog or cat’s diet, or if your pet is showing regular signs of gastrointestinal distress.  If your dog is vomiting or has diarrhea, they may also be very dehydrated. Talk your vet right away.

Secondly, keep an eye out for any of the following list of common symptoms. If you notice one or more of them regularly, your dog might be dealing with a sensitive stomach, food intolerance or allergy.-Vomiting

  • Diarrhea
  • Excessive Gassiness
  • Appetite changes
  • Weight-loss
  • Lethargic behavior
  • Itchiness
  • Chronic skin problems

What’s in the Can?

Finally, when it comes to avoiding and dealing with food intolerances and sensitivities, choosing the right food for your pet is key. Your best bet is to choose high quality foods packed with pure meat, poultry, or fish.

Find foods for your dog that are labelled gluten-free, and grain-free. Legumes are also very difficult for dogs and cats to digest so look for legume-free pet foods too.

And read those labels. Clearly labeled protein sources should be the main ingredient. If anything else is in there, make sure it’s good simple stuff like carrots, vitamins, and minerals. It’s best to avoid foods filled with unnecessary carbs like potatoes and corn too.

Having trouble pronouncing the ingredients? Doesn’t whet your appetite for your next meal? Put that can down.
